This is the world’s first and only zip line on a real glacier and it is available all year round!
This activity is the perfect opportunity for adrenaline seekers, as you soar over a so-called moulin, which is a vertical ice cave. You will feel on top of the world as you enjoy the immense view of Europe’s biggest glacier Vatnajökull.
You start your tour by meeting up with your guide at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and together you will board a super jeep and make your way to an outlet of Vatnajökull glacier. Once you arrive, your guide will help you gear up so that you are ready to hike the glacier safely. The hike is only about 30 minutes, but participants should be able to walk on uneven surface without issues and be moderately fit. You will have to hike approximately 10 km in total.
Next you get to explore a beautiful ice cave (please note that this is possible during the winter months only). These caves change every year and therefore this is a unique, almost mystical, and always different, adventure. Please note that seeing the inside of these ice caves is not possible during the summer months (May – September). In the summer season you still get to experience the glacier hike onto Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and of course the main highlight – the Zip Line!
We assure you this will be a truly unforgettable activity. Each participant will get to go at least two times on the zip line and possibly more depending on time and group size. The best part is that all guides on this tour are professional photographers and a 10-shot per person photo package of your adventure is already included in your booking.
